el Colonel & Doubleshot

Curran “el Colonel” Stromberg hailed from Pasadena California originally, and has been playing blues music of all shades at Festivals, Clubs, Showcase Theaters, and private events for 20 years now in the Western, and Eastern Washington areas ! He has earned a large following in the north end of western Wash. as well as the south end. He has studied 50s and 60s R&B with the likes of Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Albert King, BB King, etc.

el Colonel was nominated twice for “Best Male Vocalist” with the Washington Blues Societies; Best Blues Awards 2006, and 2008.

His Cd is in the works, and will be out this year in the summer of 2011.

It will have 10 original numbers, as well as 2 traditional covers….el Colonel loves to play da blues in it’s purest form, and never leaves an audience hungry.

el Colonel plays Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bottleneck Acoustic Slide Guitar, and Bass Guitar. He is also a trained, and well seasoned vocalist, and knows many, many traditional blues songs from the day….

He also performs a “Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan” show that is an hour and forty five minutes straight at the local casino’s and clubs in the area….Bruce Guy of the King Biscuit Blues Band plays Sax, Tony Ruiz plays bass, and has toured with the likes of Foghat, Pat Travers, and Robin Trower. He has also done Tribute shows to Stevie Ray Vaughan, and ZZ Top. An excellent bassist by trade and sings too.

Les “The Shuffle King” Merrihew is a veteran drummer of the Seattle music scene for the last 4 decades, and is very well know for his blues drumming…Less will always undoubtedly be more, and his name is Les; you just can’t go wrong with Les on drums.
