The Anacortes Brewery is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year. Founded in July of 1994, Anacortes is the 10th oldest brewery in the state of Washington. Going into their third decade, the brewery continues to gain in popularity as more and more people become interested in craft beer. Today they make over 30 different styles and have won numerous awards from state competitions. “I think our variety and consistency is what makes us unique”, says head brewer Kevin Pierce. “We make many beers, and we brew all off them in small, artisan batches.” Anacortes Brewery beers are available at companion businesses, the Rockfish Grill and H2O. They are also available at several other locations around town and throughout Skagit County. The brewery self distributes here and in Island, Snohomish and King Counties. They recently signed an agreement with Walton Beverage to be distributed in the San Juan and Whatcom areas. To celebrate, the brewery will be throwing a 20th anniversary party Saturday, July 26th at the Heart of Anacortes located directly behind the Rockfish Grill. This will be an all ages community event and will feature food, music and a beer garden. Performing that day will be The Stilly River Band, The Savage Jazz Trio, Little Joe Argo, Fidalgo Swing and the duo, Hamilton / Cox. The event runs noon to 8PM and is free to the public.
