“The Jazz Gents” are thrilled to be playing their premiere public performance here at the Anacortes Library. The group has coalesced out of a bi-weekly series of jam sessions initiated in 2013 and hosted by Clive Collins at his Lynden residence. The afternoon gatherings are part rehearsal, part social club; the players take turns calling tunes both familiar and obscure, then challenge themselves to play the songs from memory while creating inventive solos and improvising 3-part melodic harmony. Musicians: Jerry Fenwick, flugelhorn; Jack Stafford, reeds/flute; Dave Keim, trombone; Tom Miller, guitar; Andy Carr, piano; Clive Collins, bass/trombone; Grant Wilson, drums. The members possess extensive individual musical resumés and are also connected to
many of the local North Sound jazz ensembles.

The Heart of Anacortes is an outside venue. Please dress for the weather. In the case of rain, this performance will relocate to the Anacortes Public Library. Free jazz performances are scheduled on the second Sunday of every month at the Anacortes Public Library or, during the summer months, at The Heart of Anacortes. Admission is free, but seating is limited.
